Role

UX/UI designer.

Tools

Sketch, Invision, Illustrator, Photoshop.

Goal

Create a new alcoholic and non-alcoholic delivery service app for people who want to keep the party on without any worry.

Background

There are a few companies nowadays that offer exclusive service for non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages delivery. Some of them are Drizly, Mini Bar, and Sauce. Also, there are some companies that have a variety of delivery service. One of these services is delivering non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. These companies provide certain convenience when people want to get some beverages and do not want to go out after getting a few drinks. Most of them have a delivery service fee, over price products, and none of them have 30 minutes of delivery services.  Having 30 minutes of delivery services will help people to avoid planning and driving after getting some drinks.

Goal

Now days people is looking for more convenience services more specific, in this case, delivery services. Drizly has a new one-hour delivery service in which people can order online and get their products in less than one hour. In this usability test we are going to see if people can get  specific products in the one-hour delivery service through its website.

Research Questions

  • Are shoppers able to find and add all the products easily?

  • Are shoppers able to complete their list for the one-hour delivery service?

  • Are shoppers able to checkout without any inconveniences?

  • How does shopper feel about the shopping experience?

Methodology

Conduct an in-person usability test of Drizly website on a laptop computer. Each session will last 10 minutes.

Usability Test

The first usability test was done on the Drizly website which is one of the main competitors of the new app.

Participants

We asked to the participants if they want to be part of a 10-minute research study after responding an online survey, in which the screening will be done.

For the screening:

  • Regular users of laptops

  • Regular online shoppers (At least twice a month)

  • Have never used the Drizly website before

  • Have never used any online service for getting alcoholic beverage delivered

  • Like to have drinks at their houses or friends’ houses

  • Ages between 21-45 years old

We went to met with each participant to their houses.
The computer was set up on a table where they can be comfortable for the te
st.

Findings

  • None of the participants could find the products easily at the beginning.

  • Just one of them was able to order in the one-hour delivery service.

  • The delivery-time needs to be more present during the whole process

Recommendations

  • Scan ID mandatory during the checkout

  • In the landing page, the address should pop up in the middle of the screen, so everyone can notice. Asking for the location at the beginning will help with the products availability.

  • After entering the address mentioned what type of delivery services they have available for that location.

  • Have a category carrousel in the landing page. This will make the categories more visible.
